One of the objectives of Ethiopian Teachers Association (ETA)  is to contribute for the provision of Quality Education for All. As part of its effort to wards attaining this objectives, ETA organizes national annual quality education conference in June. This year, the conference was organized from 26-27 June 2015 in Oromia national regional state in Adama city upon which five research papers and two in depth  reviews done by scholars were presented. All the papers were targeted to the situation of Quality education in Ethiopia.

Sub- Saharan Africa Regional Ministerial Conference on education beyond 2015 was held from 9 – 11 February 2015 in Kigali, Rwanda.

Participants of the Conference were 43 Ministers leading education in the member states in Africa. Assistant Director General of UNESCO, Dr. Tian Tang and other very important officials including Julie Gillard, former Prime Minister of Australia and chair of Global partnership for Education (GPE) and Dr. Martial De –Paul Rkoungi, Commissioner of Human Resource, Science and Technology of the African Union were present.

The conference has discussed on pertinent issues of education beyond 2015 both in plenary and in breakout sessions.

The 8th Education International Africa Regional Conference was held in Kenya, Nairobi from 2-6 February 2015 with a theme; Achieving Quality Education in Africa: prospects and challenges beyond 2015.

The opening ceremony of the conference was made in Kenyatta International conference center, in Tsevo hole.

The conference was honored by the presence of his excellence Uhuru Keayatta, president of the Republic of Kenya. The President highlighted that he was encouraged by the theme of the conference. In his words “the theme of the conference is encouraging since the issue of Quality is key for human capital development”. He added that Quality of education speaks to quality of the population and governance.

ETA Elected in to the 2nd ECOSOCC Permanent General Assembly PDF Print E-mail

Economic Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) of the African Union (AU) is one of the organs of the African union constituted from two civil society representatives from each of the member states in Africa. ECOSOCC is the civil society parliament of the Union. Among other things ECOSOCC is entitled to promote continuous dialogue between all segments of the African people on issues concerning Africa and its future.

The   first General Assembly of ECOSOCC was launched in 2008 in Tanzania. Since then attempts have been made to contribute to the cause of African union.

As the term of operation for ECOSOCC is four years, Ethiopian Teachers Association has applied for the second round membership and was successful in winning the election.

ETA Participated in EFA Regional Meeting PDF Print E-mail

Ethiopian Teachers Association (ETA), invited and supported by its international affiliate Educational International (EI), has participated in the EFA Regional workshop organized in Accra, Ghana from 16-18 July 2014.

The workshop was titled “Effective Advocacy: Mobilizing for the Education we want”. In the workshop Education International affiliates from more than ninteen African countries were participated.
