Education and Training Congress convenes every year to evaluate the status of successes in the education sector and the challenges faced in the proper implementation the Education & Training Policy. This year the congress was held in the facilitated African union headquarters new building meeting room.

ETA General Congress held PDF Print E-mail

General Congress of the Ethiopian Teachers Association (ETA) convenes every four years as indicated in its by-law.
The Congress evaluates activities performed by the Council (Convenes every year) and the executive committee during the last four years and decides on the general policy direction of the Association.

Teachers’ Salary scale increased PDF Print E-mail

Ethiopian Teachers Association (ETA) has hired a consultant in 2008 who developed alternative salary scale for teachers which was endorsed by ETA’s General Congress in July 2008 to be submitted to the Government. The endorsed Salary scale was then presented to HE Prime Minister Meles Zenawi of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on the conference organized during the 60th anniversary of ETA in February 2009.

Ethiopian Teachers Association (ETA) and VSO Ethiopia had established commendable relationship to attain their common objectives specific to teachers’ morale and provision of quality education to attain EFA goals. Because of the cooperation that exists between the two organizations, VSO Ethiopia country office has been organizing different experience sharing events from which the association benefited a lot.

In March 2011 a half day workshop was organized by VSO Ethiopia staff & ETA at ETA’s headquarters in Addis Ababa for base line data collection in March 2011 to set target for 2012-2014 and later, on 1st July 2011, another workshop was conducted in the same place for organizational capacity scanning. One of the areas identified as limitation was then related to organizational capacity of ETA.

ETA Council Passed Resolution PDF Print E-mail

The 24th session of the Ethiopian Teachers Association (ETA) council was held in Dire Dawa city from 14-16 October 2011. Mayor of the Dire Dawa city has delivered opening speech where he welcomes all the participants to the city and called upon the councilors to work hard for effective implementation of the quality improvement package underway.

Representing the Federal Ministry of Education, Dr. Keba rgessa, State Minister for Higher Education, has also called upon the participants to keep the profession up to the standard, in his key note address. The Ethiopian Teachers Association headquarters executive
